What is Arimidex and what does it do?
Arimidex is the brand name for anastrozole, an aromatase inhibitor. This is the Proper Labs version, 1mg per tablet, 50 tablets per pack. It blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone into oestrogen, so it keeps oestrogen levels in check while you run aromatising compounds on cycle.
How do people run anastrozole?
It is used on cycle rather than as a standalone. A commonly reported approach is a small dose a few times a week, for example 0.5mg every other day, then adjusting to symptoms and bloodwork. This is a general guide and not medical advice. The goal is the lowest dose that controls oestrogen without crashing it.
What are the side effects of anastrozole?
Taking too much can crash oestrogen, which brings joint pain, low libido, low mood and hot flushes. Over time it can also lower HDL cholesterol. Headaches are reported as well. Lowering the dose usually settles these. Bloodwork on oestradiol helps you dose sensibly.
Is Arimidex the same as a PCT?
No. Anastrozole controls oestrogen while you are on cycle. A PCT is run after the cycle to help restart natural testosterone, and uses different compounds such as SERMs. Many users need both at different stages, but Arimidex does not replace a proper PCT.
