Tamoxifen / Nolvadex

Tamoxifen, sold under the name Nolvadex, is a selective oestrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It works by blocking oestrogen from binding to receptors in breast tissue, which is why it is used to control gyno symptoms on cycle and to help kickstart natural testosterone production once a steroid cycle ends. Each Proper Labs tab contains 20mg of tamoxifen citrate.

As a guide and not medical advice, PCT protocols often run tamoxifen at a higher dose for the first couple of weeks before stepping it down for the remainder of a 4 to 6 week course, taken orally with or without food. For gyno control during a cycle, users report lower daily doses. Always work from your own research and bloodwork rather than copying someone else's numbers.

The most commonly reported side effects are hot flushes, nausea and headaches, with a less common but more serious risk being an increased chance of blood clots. Getting bloodwork done before and after a course, covering testosterone, LH, FSH and oestradiol, helps you see how your body is actually responding. If anything feels off, particularly leg swelling or pain, stop and get it checked rather than pushing through.

Both are SERMs and both are used to restart natural test production, but they work slightly differently and are often stacked together rather than used as strict alternatives. Nolvadex tends to be favoured for its stronger anti-oestrogen action in breast tissue, which makes it useful for gyno control on cycle as well as PCT, while Clomid is generally reserved for PCT alone. A lot of users run both concurrently for a more complete recovery protocol.

It doesn't have to be paired with another compound to do its job, but many PCT plans combine it with Clomid and sometimes hCG beforehand for a fuller recovery. What you actually need depends on the compounds and length of the cycle you're coming off, so it's worth planning your PCT before you start rather than after.
